Math Grading Agreement
Homework: 15%
Quizzes: 25%
Tests/Projects: 35%
Math Review Quizzes: 25%
Homework: Homework will be assigned almost every night (Monday-Thursday). Homework will be checked at the beginning of class. Homework will not always be collected, but will always be checked for detail and effort. A homework completion grade will be given at the end of each week. If all the homework assignments are turned in on time for the week, a score of 100 will be given (as a weekly grade). If one assignment is missed within the week a score of 75 will be given for the week. If two assignments are missed a score of 50 will be given. If three assignments are missed within the week a score of 25 will be given, and if all 4 assignments for the week are missed a score of 0 will be given, and the student will have to do make up assignments to gain homework completion points.
Quizzes: Students will be given a quiz approximately every 2 weeks. Once the quizzes have been graded, students will have the opportunity to make corrections on their quizzes and resubmit their quiz for a higher grade (2 resubmissions maximum).
Tests: Tests will be given at the end of each chapter. Like quizzes, students will have the opportunity to make corrections on the problems that did not receive full-credit. Once corrections are made, students may resubmit their test for a higher grade (2 resubmissions maximum).
Projects: Periodically projects will be assigned to assess learning. Projects will be graded using a rubric that will be distributed as the project is assigned.
Math Review Quizzes: At the start of every math class, students will work on a math review, which consists of 5-6 problems. The same problem types will be used for nine consecutive days. On the tenth day a quiz will be given. Each quiz will consist of 10-12 problems. These problems will be of the exact problem type from the previous nine math reviews. On most occasions, math review quiz corrections will not be permitted after the quiz has been graded.
